We decided to add the word nursing to our name because TLC specializes in caring for what we call ‘special needs pets’. These are pets that are not always able to spend a day or several days at a regular pet care facility either because they are sick, older, anxious, require a regimen of medications (like insulin), are less mobile or are not social with other pets.  

TLC offers a one-on-one service that keeps these special pets enriched, healthy and happy. We also provide their medications, as necessary. 

We also offer Pet Reiki wellness therapies.

We work hard to make sure your pet’s experience at TLC is as stress free and enjoyable as possible.

Tender Loving Care Pet Nursing Hotel is a luxury hotel for pets. 

We send daily digital ‘report cards’ with pictures to pet parents which give them peace of mind while away. The TLC Experience is like no other.

Many of our pet guests suffer from anxiety. Perhaps they have separation anxiety, storm anxiety and/or do not like to socialize with other pets. TLC is the perfect environment for these pets as they receive one-on one care.

Finally, if your pet has any type of chronic or acute illness, such as diabetes, kidney disease, epilepsy, or cancer, TLC is ready and able to care for these special needs pets as well.

Yes! We care for both healthy and special needs pets. We prioritize helping anxious pets stay comfortable and relaxed. If that means also caring for their healthy sibling/friend, we are happy to board them together in the same suite.

Please bring food, treats, any medications, a toy and anything else that will help them feel at home. First-time boarders often benefit from having a recently worn clothing item that belongs to the owner. In our experience, having mom or dad’s scent in their suite can have a calming effect on your fur baby.  While we take every possible precaution to return all belongings in good condition, we recommend cherished items stay at home.

When you come in to drop your pet off for the first time, one of our Team Members will review your pet’s feeding requirements, any medication needs and any special instructions you may have to ensure your pets needs are met.

Overnight Boarding: Check-in is any time between 7:00am and 6:00pm There is a $10.00 charge to check-in earlier.

Yes, reservations are required for daycare and overnight boarding.

You can reserve online or call (785) 329-6141. We recommend making your reservation as soon as possible, especially during busy times of the year such as holidays. 

Overnight boarding reservations require a non-fundable deposit of $80.00 for dogs and $60.00 for cats

Daycare reservations do not require a deposit.

Our hotel is open to the public daily, 7:00am – 6:00pm. Please note, we are not open for drop-offs or pick-ups on the following holidays: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Daycare
We close at 6:00pm. All pick-ups/check-outs between 6:00pm – 7:00pm will incur an additional $10.00 late charge. If it is extremely necessary to pick up your pet after 7:00 pm, there is a late charge of $20.00. We are not able to support check-outs after 8:00pm.

Overnight Boarding
We ask that you pick up your pet by 10:00am on the last day of overnight boarding. If you are picking up your pet after the 10:00am check-out time, we will add a $47.00 daycare fee for dogs and/or $60 for cats. As noted above, we close at 6:00pm. All pick-ups/check-outs between 6:00pm – 7:00pm will incur an additional $10.00 late charge on top of the $47.00 daycare fee.  If it is extremely necessary to pick up your pet after 7:00 pm, the late fee increases to $20.00. We are not able to support check-outs after 8:00pm.
